TV networks (broadcasters) will no longer be permitted to send analog signals to TVs. This means that anyone who has an analog TV and relies on "rabbit ears" to get their signal will no longer be able to view TV in this manner. However, these consumers have three options:
- You can purchase a new TV with a digital tuner built in
- You may subscribe to cable or other pay television service
- Purchase a converter box that will down-convert the digital signal into analog

- Analog signals take up more airwave room than digital signals. Having digital signals will free up extra capacity for first-responders such as local police and fire departments to enhance the way they react to emergencies
- Additionally, digital broadcasting lets TV stations send clearer signals which in turn will give us better picture and sound quality
- Furthermore, TV stations can even use this new technology to transmit high-definition signals thereby supplying us with new HD channels

- No. All customers will be able to watch these television stations on any television connected to Cox. Cox is committed to converting the digital signals for our analog customers for at least three years after the transition through 2012 so if you are a Cox Customer-Simply Said-your are OK.

- The converter option is for those who do not have cable. Most people have television sets connected to cable, satellite, or other pay television service. Converters will not be needed for these sets.
- If you have a television with a digital tuner, then you will not need a converter.
- If you haven’t purchased a television in the last five years, it probably does not include a digital tuner.
- An older set not connected to cable is a good candidate for a converter.
- It should be remembered that if you are a cable customer direct connections to TV’s on additional outlets is FREE and then customers would not need to purchase additional equipment.

- The converter boxes are slated to be available for purchase in mid-February 2008. The stores slated to commit to selling the boxes are Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Circuit City, Target, Sears, Kmart and RadioShack.

- The government created a coupon program in which households will be able to apply for a maximum of 2 coupons, each worth $40
- Coupons will be mailed to eligible household and will expire after 90 days of issuance.
- Coupons will look and work like a plastic gift card.
