CONSUMER SURVEY SHOWS THAT CABLE HIGH-DEFINITION PICTURE QUALITY BETTER THAN SATELLITE

Satellite's Own Customers Say Cable Has a Better HD Picture in Side-by-Side Tests

Sun Valley -- The results of a new consumer survey show that when it comes to high-definition (HD) picture quality, cable is the clear winner – even among current satellite customers.  In side-by-side comparisons, more than 65 percent of customers ranked cable higher than DirecTV, and almost 70 percent chose the high-quality cable picture over Dish Network.

"This survey shows that consumers recognize and appreciate the continuous investment we make in our network to ensure that we deliver the best HD picture," said Percy Kirk, Vice President and Region Manager. "Picture quality is so important to our customers who have invested hundreds, even thousands of dollars in their new HDTV.  Superior picture quality, coupled with the fact that Cox customers can receive HD at no additional charge, confirms that Cox is truly the best choice for HD programming in the Omaha metro.”

Methodology and Results
Frank N. Magid Associates, a leading research consulting organization, conducted the survey; Accenture, a management and technology consulting company, oversaw the technical aspects of the test; and Loeb & Loeb, a national law firm, provided legal guidance on the survey process.  The survey has a 5-7 percent margin of error.

DiversityInc Names Top 50 Companies for Diversity

Sun Valley – The 2007 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list has been released. The largest competition of its kind, the list is determined solely from a comprehensive survey of diversity management that measures CEO commitment, human capital, corporate communications and supplier diversity.

Cox Communications has earned the No. 25 spot on the diversity list, up from No. 32 last year, and also ranked as the No. 8 company for African Americans.

“Cox Communications is much different from the average corporation; it is a true champion of diversity,” notes Luke Visconti, partner and cofounder of DiversityInc, a monthly business magazine and daily web site. “A total of 317 companies competed for a spot, a 100 percent increase in corporate participation in the Top 50 competition over the last three years.”

“We are delighted that DiversityInc has recognized Cox as a top company for diversity for the second consecutive year,” said Cox Communications VP of Public and Government Affairs Kristin Peck. “At Cox, diversity is a critical part of our culture, values and operations. It is truly a business priority throughout the company, including the areas of recruitment, hiring and employee development, supplier outreach, community support, and the products and services we offer our customers.”
