CONSUMER SURVEY SHOWS THAT CABLE
HIGH-DEFINITION PICTURE QUALITY BETTER THAN SATELLITE
Satellite's Own Customers Say Cable Has a Better HD Picture in
Side-by-Side Tests
Sun Valley
--
The results of a new consumer survey show that when it comes to
high-definition (HD) picture quality, cable is the clear winner –
even among current satellite customers. In side-by-side
comparisons, more than 65 percent of customers ranked cable higher
than DirecTV, and almost 70 percent chose the high-quality cable
picture over Dish Network.
"This survey
shows that consumers recognize and appreciate the continuous
investment we make in our network to ensure that we deliver the best
HD picture," said Percy Kirk, Vice President and Region Manager.
"Picture quality is so important to our customers who have invested
hundreds, even thousands of dollars in their new HDTV. Superior
picture quality, coupled with the fact that Cox customers can
receive HD at no additional charge, confirms that Cox is truly the
best choice for HD programming in the Omaha metro.”
Methodology and
Results
Frank
N. Magid Associates, a leading research consulting organization,
conducted the survey; Accenture, a management and technology
consulting company, oversaw the technical aspects of the test; and
Loeb & Loeb, a national law firm, provided legal guidance on the
survey process. The survey has a 5-7 percent margin of error.
