Michelle Baran
Sr. Manager, Industry Marketing, Cisco, Service Provider Video Technology Group

As Senior Manager, Industry Marketing for Cisco’s Service Provider Video Technology Group, Michelle Baran is responsible for defining key marketing strategies and objectives for the company’s consumer-facing products. Her role includes direction of industry marketing efforts, including trade shows, advertising, branding, electronic communications, and public relations. In addition, Michelle leads the product demonstration strategy and development for tradeshows, customer events and in-house demo centers and is now focused on bringing video, voice and data solutions to Cisco’s various Executive Briefing Centers worldwide.

Michelle joined Cisco’s former Scientific Atlanta business in 2000 as a marketing communications manager in the company’s Strategic Communications group and played a key role in the development of the company’s worldwide exhibition marketing program. She helped execute the launch of the company’s first HDTV and DVR set-tops both in the US and Europe and in the launches of the company’s first cable modems, EMTAs and wireless gateways.

Michelle received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1990. She is a member of WICT, CTAM, and Cable Positive.

Maura Fox
Vice President, Product Management, Consumer Devices & Convergence, Time Warner Cable

Maura Fox, Vice President, Product Management, Consumer Devices & Convergence, is responsible for business planning and product management for consumer devices enabling TWC services, including set top boxes and digital video recorders, cable modems, phone MTAs and wireless gateways, as well as strategy and development for next generation, "converged" services and cross platform applications. Maura joined Time Warner Cable in 2000.

Before joining the Product Management Group, as the Senior Director of Digital Cable Product Marketing, Maura developed national marketing strategies for the introduction of TWC’s new digital products, including the industry leading launches of VOD and DVRs.

Prior to Time Warner Cable, Maura served as Director of Promotion and Strategic Alliances for Cablevision Systems Corporation. In that capacity, Maura handled promotional marketing for acquisition and retention efforts related to video and high speed data products.

Maura has a background in sports marketing, which includes managing professional tennis and professional cycling events. Maura first got into the cable industry with Fox Sports Net New England as their Director of Consumer Marketing and won two Emmy Awards for her on-air promotions in 1998 – a first for Fox Sports Net.

Maura graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Sports Management and Communication. She currently resides in Stamford, Connecticut with her husband Dan and three children, Isabella, Christopher and Thomas.

Lisa Jackson
Director of Strategy, Frog Design

Lisa Jackson is frog design’s Strategy Director in the Austin studio. Lisa has extensive experience assisting large high-tech companies adapt to new digital challenges. Her six years of strategy consulting includes experience in CRM implementation, go-to-market strategy, financial business case development, product life-cycle planning, direct consumer sales, and retail merchandising. Clients have included HP, Sun Microsystems, Cisco and Compaq.

Prior to joining frog, Lisa worked in the digital TV business at both HP and Phillips. As a business planner at HP she played an integral part in launching the first Media Smart TVs at Best Buy. More recently she developed product innovation roadmaps at Philips for internet-enabled TVs. Her efforts with Philips Design resulted in the future user interface platform to be implemented Philips-wide. In addition, she was responsible for building one of the largest partner alliances in Philips' history. Lisa received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, where she focused on new product development.

Mimi Thigpen - Moderator
Senior Vice President of Strategy, Cox Communications, Inc.

Mimi Thigpen is Senior Vice President of Strategy for Cox Communications, Inc. She is responsible for developing strategies across all of Cox’s products and services that fuel the company’s growth, competitive position and success in the telecommunications industry. Thigpen also develops market strategies based on emerging technologies and investment opportunities, is a key contributor to Cox's wireless efforts, and serves as the company’s chief consultant on companywide initiatives and strategic planning and development processes.

Prior to joining Cox, Thigpen served as a Managing Director of BearingPoint, Inc. and a Partner for Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, where she provided business advisory services in the communications and media industries. She began her career with the Hewlett-Packard Company, where she led multiple global sales and marketing teams.

A graduate of Clemson University, Thigpen holds a B.S. in Mathematical and Computer Sciences.

Thigpen is on the board of directors of Connecting With Kids, Inc. and is an active member of the Atlanta community, volunteering her time to causes such as Childspring International, Atlanta Urban Ministries, and Hands on Atlanta.
