Cox Hampton Roads and Gospel Music Channel to Co-Sponsor Two-Day Concert Event Starring Tye Tribbett & Greater Anointing Event Celebrates Launch of Gospel Music Channel on Cox Digital Cable Channel 242

Hampton Roads, VA – Cox Hampton Roads and Gospel Music Channel (GMC) will partner to sponsor a concert event that will be recorded for a live DVD release featuring Tye Tribbett & Greater Anointing, one of the top up-and-coming groups in gospel music today. The performances will take place over two days, Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18 in Virginia Beach, VA. The special event celebrates the recent addition of Gospel Music Channel -- the nation’s first and only television network devoted to all styles of gospel/Christian music -- on Cox Digital Cable channel 242.

The Friday performance will take place at The Rock Church International, 620 Kempsville Rd., and the Saturday recording session will be part of a free party on the beach at 24th St. & Pacific Avenue in Virginia Beach. The Friday concert starts at 8 pm, preceded by a special pizza party at 6 pm for ticket holders 12 and under. Tickets for the Friday session can be purchased through Ticketmaster. Additionally, Cox will treat 12 members of the Boys & Girls Clubs to the Friday concert and pizza party.

The DVD of the performances will be titled “Stand Out!” and will be released later this year.

Tye Tribbett & Greater Anointing collaborated with a variety of notable artists, including Faith Hill, Don Henley, Mary Mary, Justin Timberlake and Sting. The group's first high-profile performance was on DreamWorks motion picture soundtrack for The Prince of Egypt. Their song "Let Go, Let God" was performed with the then-unknown gospel duo Mary Mary. With two major label releases (“Life” and “Victory Live!”), Tye Tribbett & Greater Anointing is ready to go to the next level in their music with their third project to be released under Columbia Records. The group has earned numerous accolades, including seven Stellar, one Dove and three Grammy Award nominations.

“We are delighted to be able to support this community event and look forward to listening to the great gospel sounds of Tye Tribbett & Greater Annointing,” said Gary McCollum, vice president and region manager; Cox Hampton Roads. “It’s going to be a memorable weekend.”

Genia Edelman, vice president of national accounts, Gospel Music Channel, said, “We are thrilled that Gospel Music Channel is now available to Cox Digital Cable customers and equally thrilled to team up with Cox to bring some great live gospel music to Virginia Beach as a celebration.”
