The Cox Service Assurance Plan is a service and maintenance plan available to Cox residential customers for a small monthly fee of $3.99. The plan covers wiring and service issues for cable, high speed Internet and telephone service, regardless of whether or not Cox is the telephone service provider. Also included is customer education and diagnosis.

Plus we'll diagnose any problems, show you how to get the most out of your equipment, and make sure your Cox services are trouble-free.

No charge for wiring-related maintenance/repair

Cable and telephone home interior wiring is covered, providing a far better value than the phone company’s inside wire maintenance plan for telephone only

  1. What services are covered by the Cox Service Assurance Plan?

    • All telephone, Internet and cable wiring inside the home that runs from the Network Interface (usually a small box on the outside of the house) to the wall outlet or phone jack. All coaxial wiring (cable TV wire) installed by Cox is covered with the exception of any telephone/Internet/cable wire installed in the wall partitions. Other exceptions are outlined in the terms and conditions of the Cox Service Assurance Plan Agreement.
       
  2. What is not covered by the Cox Service Assurance Plan?

    • Any equipment or devices that you own, such as telephones, TV sets, computers, fax machines, telephone answering machines, modems, home entertainment systems, stereo equipment, video game systems and any of the wires that connect these devices together or to the wall outlet are not covered.

  3. Are there any extra, hidden charges in addition to the $3.99 a month fee?
    • Except for taxes and franchise fees, there are no other charges as long as you are a customer of Cox Communications and are current on your payments. Cox does, however, reserve the right to change this rate from time-to-time by providing at least thirty days written notice to customers.

  4. Why is Cox doing this?
    •  We are committed to providing the very best in customer service. This is an important way for us to enhance the current service we provide. Furthermore, it is Cox’s initial step toward expanding the communication services the company provides.

  5. How do I sign up for the Cox Service Assurance Plan?
    • Simply call 540-373-6343 and speak with a customer service representative.

  6. If I am having a problem with my phone wire, how do I schedule an appointment to get it fixed?
    • Call our customer service department at 540-373-6343. Most of our repair calls are completed within 24 hours of your call.

  7. If I sign up for the Cox Service Assurance Plan, do I still need to keep my telephone wiring maintenance plan?
    • No. The Cox Service Assurance Plan covers your inside telephone wiring, plus your cable and Internet wiring as well.

  8. What if your technician discovers that my problem isn’t caused by the inside wiring. Will you then charge me for the appointment?
    • If the problem is not in the inside wiring, our repair technician will attempt to identify the source of the problem and advise you on the necessary course of action. This is included in your monthly Cox Service Assurance Plan rate. Cox will not complete repair work that requires wiring to be installed or reinstalled in the walls of your home (also known as “wall fishing”).

Wiring coverage applies to Cox -- and customer -- owned wiring in single family and other select housing. Subscription to the Cox Service Assurance Plan required which is billed monthly and in advance. Your Plan subscription will be canceled without notice if no Cox service is being provided to the residence, or if any misuse or abuse of the Plan services occurs, or if a hazard or danger to the person or property exists which could prevent Cox technicians from performing their work in a safe manner. Your Plan subscription may also be suspended or discontinued upon notice for nonpayment. No equipment warranties are provided under this Plan. Cox self-install service calls not covered. Separate subscription may be required for each tenant or occupant of apartments, condos, or other multi-dwelling units. Other restrictions apply. **Certain limitations apply.
