Cox High Speed Internet service is compatible with most operating systems and browser types. For installation and support, the following are the minimum computer requirements:

  • Microsoft Windows Systems
    • Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Home Edition
      • Pentium II Processor (233 MHz minimum)
      • 64 MB RAM (128 MB for Windows XP users)
      • 150 MB available disk space
      • CD-ROM drive
    • Windows Vista Home Basic or Home Premium Editions
      • CPU: Pentium III Processor (800 MHz minimum)
      • 512 MB RAM
      • 200 MB available disk space
      • CD-ROM
  • Apple Macintosh Systems
    • Mac OSX 10.2
      • PowerPC G3
      • 128 MB RAM
      • 1.5 GB available disk space
      • CD-ROM drive

Additionally, a Cox approved modem is essential to your best service experience. We recommend a DOCSIS 2.0 or better cable modem. You may provide your own, or we offer modems for rent and sale.

To get the best performance for your Cox High Speed Internet, we recommend the following computer equipment:
