Michael Petty
Vice President of Cox Business Services, Cox Arizona
Michael Petty is vice president of Cox Business Services (CBS) for Cox Communications, Inc. Arizona. Petty is responsible for leading the delivery of Cox’s telephone, high-speed data and video products to local and state business customers. CBS has realized tremendous year over year growth since entering the market in 2000.
Petty joined Cox in February, 2004 as the Arizona vice president of field operations. Prior to joining Cox, Petty worked with Genuity in Boston as vice president of customer operations. He joined Electric Lightwave, Inc. in Vancouver, Washington in 1998 as vice president of network planning and engineering and led network design, architecture and detail engineering.
Petty has also worked with Sprint Communications and held leadership positions in network and systems engineering, applications development, and marketing. He is a past chairman of the Availability Workshop – ICCF/OBF industry standards forum and currently serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement.
Petty holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Baker University with graduate work at Rockhurst College. In May 2008, Petty will receive his MBA from Thunderbird, School of Global Management and will complete the executive certificate program from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management in Strategy and Innovation.
