Josh Nelson
Vice President of Information and Network Technology, Cox Arizona
Josh Nelson was named vice president of a new department at Cox Arizona called information and network technology in 2006.
At the time of his promotion, Nelson had served at Cox Communications as director of information technology (IT) since 2004. He lead Cox Arizona's creation of the Cox Metro Ethernet, which Cox Business Services (CBS) now offers business clients, and which has the capacity of up to and beyond 1 gigabyte (Gbps) speed inter-office(s) as well as Internet access service. Nelson also helped form the Cox Managed Solutions Center (MSC), which offers secure co-location services for businesses in Arizona and around the country.
In addition, Nelson serves on the State of Arizona Government Information Technology Agency (GITA) Advisory Committee. GITA is the Governor's agency that facilitates partnerships between state agencies and private sector organizations to improve technical and human information technology capabilities, to add value to and improve the delivery of public services for the people of Arizona.
Josh came to Arizona in 2005 directly from Cox Communications corporate offices in Atlanta. He is a cable/telecommunications veteran with more than 10 years of experience in the field with companies, such as Comcast, AT&T Broadband, MediaOne and has more than 17 years experience in the information and network technology fields.
