Contact: Andrea Katsenes (623) 328-3272
Phoenix - Cox Media received the coveted Cable Advertising Bureau (CAB) award for Sales Achievement in the Local/Retail Sales, for their work on the APS Green Choice campaign. The 2007 Green Choice campaign was a pro-energy conservation campaign designed to create green awareness in the community, educate the public on energy saving practices and brand APS as a leader in energy conservation.
The Green Choice media campaign included a sponsorship of the Discovery Channel’s Emmy award-winning series Planet Earth and a series of educational spots. Additionally, the Green Choice spots incorporated Interactive technologies, which places a graphic overlay or banner on a commercial and asks the viewer to push a button on their remote control to “interact” with the commercial. The Cox Media produced spots were a success, garnering over 4,427 Interactive responses for 200 commercials run. The average response ratio is 14 responses per commercial run.
The series of promotional commercials, co-branded with Cox and APS, each highlighted a different energy program, including compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), the AC Rebate program, the Energy Star Homes program and the Solar Water Heater Rebate program. Additionally, promotional spots directed viewers to watch “green” programming on channels such as Discovery Science, HGTV, A&E, Planet Green, Fine Living, Animal Planet, History Channel, Lifetime, TLC, Travel Channel, USA, CNN and The Weather Channel.
Key contributors to the campaign were: Jana Barsby/Cox Media, Cheri Moreno/ Media Buying Services and Susan Berg,/APS.
