Scottsdale resident, Heather Geschke, named Cox Communications Volunteer of the Quarter
Focuses her time on Rosie’s House and El Dorado Vista

PHOENIX - Heather Geschke, has been recognized as Cox Communication’s Volunteer Champion of the Quarter.  When Geschke is not busy working for Cox Business customers as an account executive, she is volunteering her personal time to serve on the Executive Boards of Rosie’s House and El Dorado Vista.  In addition to the honor, Cox will air a spot across their channel line up that features Geschke and her good works.   Cox will also make a $1,500 donation in her honor to Rosie’s House.

"I had no idea what I was getting into when I was approached to do board work for these two organizations," Geschke said.  "But I have learned things and met people I would never have done or met otherwise and it has been a very rewarding experience."

Geschke serves as the board President of Rosie’s House.  Rosie’s House is a non-profit music academy for children, which provides free music lessons and instruments to children who can not afford them.  According to Geschke short of being at the school on a daily basis, there isn’t much she hasn’t done for Rosie’s House.

"She’s invaluable to us," said Karin Thomas, Executive Director of Rosie’s House.  "She knows how to make decisions but at the same time be compassionate.  She is a superb president."

Geschke also serves as a board member for El Dorado Vista.  El Dorado Vista is a short-term care facility that focuses on healing by prayer.  It held special meaning for Geschke to work there because both of her parents have stayed in El Dorado Vista and witnessed miraculous healings.

"Cox applauds Heather’s commitment to serve her community," said Steve Rizley, senior vice president and general manager, Cox Communications-Arizona.   "Heather is an example to us all of the importance and the impact you can make in our community by simply offering time.  It’s something that people never forget."
