Cox boost online customer protection with launch of new, FREE security suite
Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee offers most comprehensive online protection in the industry
PHOENIX – Cox Communications is enhancing its online services and taking Web- based security protection for its high-speed Internet customers to a new level with the launch of the Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee. The easy-to-install service is available free to all Cox High Speed Internet customers.
“We were one of the first Internet service providers to offer a free security suite to our customers,” says Tammy Heitkamp, a marketing director at Cox Communications Arizona. “And now we’re partnering with McAfee, the industry leader in online security, to offer what amounts to an arsenal of tools to help keep families and home computers safe, protected and virus-free.”
The new security suite will include a number of new features including:
- McAfee VirusScan
- PrivacyService
- SiteAdvisor
The Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee also includes anti-virus, anti-spyware, personal firewall protection, customer identity theft protection and parental control features to filter offensive content, pictures and Web sites.
Heitkamp says, "Parents can set Internet time limits, use custom keyword filtering and use a special image analysis feature to protect children from potentially offensive content and pictures online."
While these McAfee service offerings typically cost $69.95 per year, Cox High Speed Internet customers can download the new security suite free by logging onto Internet Tools via www.cox.net.
