Cox Offers Thousands Of Dollars in Grants Supporting Youth Development
Grant Application Deadline: February 1, 2008

TUCSON – Cox Communications announced today that it will begin offering $2,000 to $5,000 grants to non-profit organizations supporting youth development activities in Southern Arizona. Applications for a 2008 Cox Charities Grant will be accepted by Cox Communications through noon, February 1, 2008.

The grants will go to youth-oriented programs in areas including education, science and technology, arts and culture, literacy and safe and healthy lifestyles. Agencies in Pima, Santa Cruz and Cochise County are invited to apply.

“At Cox Communications, we actively pursue opportunities for meaningful involvement and collaboration in all of the communities we serve,” said Pam Meichel, Human Director of Human Resources and Cox Charities Board member. “Cox Charities is an effective tool which allows us to do the most good for Tucson and Southern Arizona.”

Cox Charities raises funds for the grants through a variety of activities, including employee contributions, golf tournaments and other fundraising initiatives. The grant applications are reviewed by Cox employees to make recommendations to the Cox Charities board of directors. Chicanos Por La Causa is the administrative organization for Cox Charities.
