Cox Communications. Your friend in the digital age.

Cox is proud to be a founding member of Cable in the Classroom, a national initiative designed to improve education by providing complimentary access to educational cable programming. Through our commitment, private and public schools in our communities receive a complimentary cable connection providing commercial-free programming each month - all geared to provide teachers with lively, curriculum-rich resources to inspire learning. Our cable network partners reformat programming to help make it teacher- and kid-friendly as well as adaptable in the classroom according to national standards. Accompanying cable network study guides and Internet resources further enhance the educational value of the programs.

Through the program, Cox provides more than 3.5 million students in 5,900 schools with more than 540 hours of commercial-free educational programming each month as a public service. A complimentary monthly Cable in the Classroom magazine, which contains programming information and study guides with lesson plans and collateral materials, is given to schools in our service areas.

In addition, each Cox cable system has an employee dedicated to helping teachers to use cable programming and technology to enhance the learning experience. Cox provides Cable in the Classroom teacher training through in-service workshops and Internet training through WebTeacher via links to online lesson plans for primary subjects. Internet training is available to parents through Cyberschool, an online tutorial that shows the way kids are learning today, and teaches adults to use all media safely and wisely to enhance learning.
