John Spalding Vice President of Government Affairs, Cox Communications Inc.
John Spalding is Vice President of Government Affairs for Cox Communications Inc. He oversees Cox Communications’ government relations and public policy efforts at the federal, state and local levels. Prior to assuming his current role in 2006, Mr. Spalding served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for seven years and as Senior Counsel for three years. He joined Cox Communications in 1994 as Attorney, following two years as Attorney for Cox Enterprises, Inc., Cox Communications’ parent company. Previously, he was a Partner with Swift, Currie, McGhee and Hiers, an Atlanta-based private law firm. Spalding currently serves as Chairman of The Arch Foundation for the University of Georgia, the University’s official fundraising arm. In 2006, Spalding received the Jere M. Morehead Award from UGA for distinguished service and support of the University’s Honors Program. He has also served as a trustee of the Atlanta History Center and the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. Spalding holds bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Georgia, where he was a Magna Cum Laude Honors graduate and elected to Phi Beta Kappa. August 2006 |
