Christopher J. Bowick   Senior Vice President of Engineering Chief Technical Officer, Cox Communications Inc.

 



Chris Bowick was named Senior Vice President of Engineering & Chief Technical Officer for Cox Communications in 2000. Mr. Bowick is responsible for strategic technology development, and day-to-day technical operations, including the development and deployment of telecommunications services, such as: circuit-switched telephone, Voice over IP telephone, high-speed data, digital video, video-on-demand, and interactive television. He is also responsible for Network Engineering and operations, including national backbone, Metropolitan Area Networks and HFC networks.

Mr. Bowick joined Cox in 1998 as Vice President, Technology Development. Prior to joining Cox, he served as Group Vice President/Technology & Chief Technical Officer for Jones Intercable, Inc. He also served as Vice President of Engineering for Scientific Atlanta’s Transmission Systems Business Division, and as a design engineer for Rockwell International.

Mr. Bowick earned an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado and holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a published author of a variety of technical reference books, magazine columns and other technical papers. He is an active member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers and the CableLabs Technical Advisory Committee. He was named CED’s Man of the Year 2002 and was inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni of the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005.
