Modem Update Notification - Las Vegas

Making sure your service is optimized.

Your Cox High Speed Internet service may be interrupted because some cable modems have become outdated and will no longer compatible with our service as of April 30th, 2009. 

To prevent a possible interruption to your Internet service, you must replace any DOCSIS 1.x version Modem by April 30th, 2009. The following 4 options are available to complete this update:

  1. VISIT AN ELECTRONICS STORE, LIKE BEST BUY or FRYS
    Because you own your own modem, an option is to go to the electronics store, like Best Buy to purchase a replacement modem. Make sure it has at least DOCSIS 2.0 or higher compatibility to take advantage of Cox Communications higher speeds and enhancements. Make sure that the modem you select is on Cox’s list of approved modems then follow the instructions included in the new modem on how to install it. Approved List of Recommended Modems
  1. UPGRADE TO COX DIGITAL TELEPHONE
    Or, if you do not want to purchase another modem, and you don’t currently subscribe to Cox Digital Telephone, an option is to add Digital Phone service to your account by calling 939-8129

    Cox Digital Telephone includes a modem as part of the monthly service and our installer will connect your High Speed Internet Service to the same modem. You will continue to enjoy your new enhancements — including blazing-fast uploads and downloads offered through your Cox High Speed Internet service — plus you’ll save money with Cox Digital Telephone service. There are a number of packages with unlimited local and long distance plans and calling features to chose from at substantial savings over other providers.
  1. ALREADY A COX DIGITAL TELEPHONE CUSTOMER?
    If you are already a Cox Digital Telephone customer, the modem for your phone can also be used for Cox High Speed Internet service. Just call our tech support line at 939-8129 for step-by-step instructions to connect your phone modem to your Internet Service.
  1. PURCHASE A BRAND NEW MODEM FROM COX for $59.99 OR A REFURBISHED ONE FOR $19.99 (while supplies last)
    Another option is to purchase a brand new replacement modem from Cox for a one-time fee of $59.99 or get a refurbished one for $19.99. The easiest way is to go online to www.cox.com/info

    You will need your authorization and activation code, which was previously sent to your or email address on file. A new or refurbished Cox modem — compatible with the new technology--will be shipped to you with simple set-up instructions, based on your choice.
