Most of you are aware of the
wealth of football knowledge, our broadcast
pro's bring to the Cox 7 live broadcasts. What may
surprise you is the amount of insight into the
coaching staff, school rivalries, what drives
athletes, valley history, game strategies and most
of all the expertise that only years of personal
relationships can bring to the commentary.
Kevin
has been with KTAR 620 & ESPN 860 since
1993!
He is currently Sports Director for both
stations. During his time with the stations
he’s had the opportunity to cover and be a
part of Super Bowls, NBA Playoffs & Finals,
National Championships in College Football,
a Rose Bowl & numerous other major sporting
events!
Besides being the stations
Sports Director, Kevin also anchors the Noon
Sports on KTAR. He is also the Pre &
Postgame host for the Phoenix Suns
broadcasts. Along with his commitments to
the Suns broadcasts, he has been the
Play-by-Play voice of the WNBA’s Phoenix
Mercury & the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl (8years).
For
the last 7 years he has also been the host the
Fiesta Bowl College Gameday Show. . During his time
with the stations, he as been heavily involved with
Arizona State University Athletics as well. His
responsibilities have ranged from Show Host to
Play-by-Play. Kevin has won several Associated Press
Awards for his radio broadcast work!
Along with
his radio work, you can also find him on the TV set
of “Suns Gametime” as Host of the Phoenix Suns
pregame show(UPN-45). He is also a part of the Cox 7
TV sports team. His duties include all play-by-play
of high school games & Championships and host of
their FBR Open Preview and Wrap up shows.
Kevin and
his wife Marci reside in Glendale with their
children Devon (9), Zachary (6) & Alexandra (2).
Dale Hellestrae
Dale
Hellestrae enters his second season as a
color analyst for Live High School football
on Cox7. Dale is a 1979 graduate of
Scottsdale’s Saguaro High School where he
was an all-state performer on the Sabercats
3A runner-up team. He went on to play
college football at SMU in the early 80’s,
blocking for future NFL Hall of Fame running
back Eric Dickerson.
After
graduation, Dale played 17 seasons in the
NFL for the Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys,
and Baltimore Ravens where he played on the
offensive line.
Dale was
best known as one of the finest long snappers in the
game. He won three Super Bowl rings with the Cowboys
in 1993, 94, and 96. Dale has stayed busy after
football in the broadcasting area as a radio talk
show host and as a television football analyst. He
has worked for the Arizona Rattlers and Fox Sports.
